Liebster Award

Many thanks to Laura at All The Shoes I wear for nominating me for the Liebster award. Laura is one of those people you just know instantly if you come across her out in the world she is going to be full of life and laughter, in other words she is a keeper. If you are lucky enough in life to have friends like that, hold on to them. How lucky for me that I consider Laura one of my blogging friends. Check out her site for beautiful photos, recipes, DIY’s and fun adventures in her world. I promise there will be some laughs involved and that is always good.

Okay this is how this award works. First there are the rules but if you are a follower of mine, you know I love breaking at least some of the rules.

  1. Acknowledge the blogger that nominated you and display award.
  2. Answer 11 questions that the blogger gave you.
  3. Nominate 5 other bloggers and notify them of their nomination.

“This award is meant to encourage new bloggers. From the Global Aussie: “The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.”

I am using 3 of Laura’s questions to answer and anyone that wants to follow suit is welcome to. This is the part where I am breaking some rules but I have a few doors to paint today and I am pressed for time, but I do love participating, so here it goes. My 3 questions…wait, I mean Laura’s 3 questions and she picked some fun ones too.

  1. If someone were to make a film or movie about your life, which actor would you like to play you?

Diane Keeton. her character from Baby Boom and Alaine from Seinfeld. I have a bunch of these personality all rolled up in one crazy mixture. My husband said he married me because I am the first person that scared him to death (not sure what that means) and I make him laugh all the time. He’s a Gemini what can I say, he likes both extremes.

  1. If you had to stand up and sing a song at Karaoke what would you choose?

All of Abba’s songs. Pretty sure I still know all of them by heart but then that was a long time ago, back in my teenage years.

  1. If you received a plane ticket through the post that could take you absolutely anywhere in the world, where would you go?

This was a hard one to answer because I know there are places everywhere on this planet that are so breathtaking it would be hard to choose. So instead I will combine Laura’s question about going back in time to visit someone with this question. I would skip the plane ticket, take a hike with my dad back on that mountain I grew up on and have a picnic lunch. Knowing that my father would no longer be with me after that day, I would make sure I had my list of life questions to ask him to pass onto my children. Then after my day I would try to always remember those lessons he tried to teach me, with one of them always trying to be helpful and kind. When he passed I knew as his oldest daughter it was up to me now to follow his lead “tag I was it” so I do the best I can but I am not perfect, I have my off days as all us humans do. So in keeping with breaking the rules here is my one and only question for anyone who wants to participate:

What one kind thing did you do today to another human being?

Thanks again Laura for nominating me. If you haven’t checked out Laura’s site, please do. You will love having her as one of your blogging friends. Happy blogging everyone, now I am off to go paint those doors. Oh, and just a reminder, anyone that wants to participate in this award please feel free to from all of us at Our Little Red House. If you are one of my followers then I know you are one of the sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome…so you deserve this Liebster award too. Also, one more thing…I made it to 300 followers, thanks so much to everyone of you, so glad you not only stopped by my site for a visit but your decided to stay as well.

    1. Awww…thank you. My dad used to say “Awww…shucks.” he called his truck Ol’ Besty Bell and his licence plate read God is my co-pilot. He would drive around neighborhoods looking for tiny churches whose roofs were damaged and then he would go up to them and offer to fix them for free, he was a roofer. Those are some big shoes to fill. I can only try to do my best in representing him now that he is gone.

      1. Oh my….he sounds like the most wonderful man! What a blessing it was to have him as a dad and a blessing to all of us to have you as his legacy
