Day 8 of blogmas, so many nice things to see out there. You guys are making the holidays fun with all your recipes, DIY’s, adventures and stories. It’s like a giant holiday magazine you buy to take home to look through while sipping on hot cocoa under a warm blanket. Thank you for that. I know how hard it is to do that along with everything else that the season brings. Today I thought I share with you all one of my dollar day do overs.

I bought a whole bag of frames for $1. I decided to switch things up a bit and painted one red. Since it is the holiday season, I decided to make a snowman frame.
Had some scrap felt and using different sized jar lids as templates I traced and cut out several sizes for circles.
I sewed and stuff, then attached each piece by stitching the pieces together and added a little cap. Added buttons and a face along with a pretty scarf from an old sweater. Try to use scraps of fabrics you have around your home or that you buy second hand at yard sales, thrift shops and swap meets.
I glued the snowman onto the frame along with some twigs and mini cones.
First I had to get a good idea where everything was going before I glued everything in place.
After all the glue and paint dried I added an old Christmas photo of my dad with his twin brother and their little step sister.
You can switch up any old frame by repainting it and adding different details. Happy upcycling everyone.
Super cute! I love the snow man together with dried cones and twigs. The red re-painted frame ties all together and makes it perfect for Christmas!

I love that!! You made something so lovely and seasonal without breaking the bank! Thanks for the inspiration. I’ve been working on gifts for my extended family and running out of ideas but you’ve given me a lot to work with. 🙂

Thank you Robin. You can do just about anything. Butterflies for spring. little toys for a kids room. I think these frames came from the dollar store.

I miss those days of prints. I get a lot of my old photos from older relatives of mine. I make copies then give them back the originals. I bet you have some fun ones from the past too. Sometimes I will do a whole wall bulletin board and pin up old holiday photos for everyone to enjoy.
