Usually I do a top 10 favorite things from Christmas every year but I thought I change things up a little and just list some of our favorite stocking stuffers we got this year and share them with you all. Stockings don’t get enough attention in my opinion and they hold the funnest items too, but then I do love tiny things. I remember as a child getting a stocking full of candy kisses. I always looked forward to that. My mother-in-law was always happy to get fruit and nuts of any kind in her stocking when she was a little girl growing up in Italy, and that was during world war two. Then my aunt has a story about how my grandma used to warn her kids to always behave because Santa just might leave you black coal and switches (twigs) in your stockings.
Before I begin I just want to let you all know I am not getting anything for promoting some of these items, just think they are so adorable. You know what they always say “It’s the little things that mean the most”. So here they are, our favorite little things for 2019.
- 1- Chocolate-Doesn’t matter what type as long as it is chocolate, Dark, salted caramel, peanuts, foiled covered Santa’s and snowmen and golden coin chocolates…we love them all. Noticed the large Santa is half eaten already, couldn’t even wait for his photo to be taken.
- Colored pencils- You know I love my coloring pages, so therapeutic. This year I received wooden colored pencils from my daughter.
- Cheese- My husband and daughter love Pepper Jack anything.
- Vintage wooden ornaments- these are new to my collection. They kind of look like home made clothes pin ornaments as well. Extra points for being hand made.
- Tiny toys- I don’t care how old any of us get, we will always love toys. This miniature camera has a tiny button on it and when you push it a photo comes out.
6-Once a year I get an iron animal. This year it was a llama. Later when I have some free time I want to sew a tiny saddle blanket for it with miniature pom poms all over it.
7-Hand carved wooden critters- This little guy is pretty small. He fit perfectly into a stocking.I would love to learn how to carve animals from wood.
8-Ornaments- They make perfect stocking stuffers. I loved the colors on these two, so bright. They remind me of my vintage wooden ornaments. One is holding a mushroom and the other is holding a tree.
9-Socks- this pair is not only fun to wear but fun to say as well. Try saying Fox Socks over and over, it has a nice ring to it.
10-Dresser knobs-I redo furniture all the time, so knobs are perfect for me. I know exactly what I am going to do with these too. I have an old hope chest to redo.
11-A colorful bird hook-Love all the colors and the design on this bird hook.It might go in my master bathroom with something pretty hanging from it. I haven’t decided yet.
12-Play doh- This will never get old in our house. This is so much fun. We have even played a type of game where you have to guess what we sculpted like pictionary but instead of drawing, we use Play doh to create things with. And who doesn’t love the smell of play doh.
13-Magnetic kissing dolls- so adorable. Just look at them, too cute. They would be great for reinforcement toys for ABA (applied behavioral therapy when working with ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) children.
14-An angel- This one has a heart so I can keep her out for Valentines too.
15-A sock monkey moose- My daughter has loved anything Canadian, since she was a little girl, as long as it’s Canadian she loves it to death. She was so excited when she saw this.
There were also dominoes for my son, make up for my daughter, several varieties of candy, old fashioned candy canes for my husband, and lots of Kinder egg prizes. What did you get in your stockings? So much fun taking apart stockings.
I am offline for a few weeks. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit, likes, comments and follows. Stay safe out there and God bless you all from all of us at Our Little Red House.
They are all lovely little gifts.

Thank you Lisa, so sorry I haven’t been to your site as much. I need to head over there and check things out. I have been trying to post something everyday for Christmas and just haven’t had the time to visit as many of you as I have in the past. You are such a talented artist too and thank you for sharing printing pages too, so sweet. Have a wonderful New Year.

Thank you, they are always so much fun. I look forward to our stockings more then our regular gifts. So simple and they never leave a mess behind when we take everything out. No wrapping paper to pick up afterwards.

Thank you Robin, I will have new posts pre-scheduled though as soon as I “try” taking a couple weeks off of social media to finish so many projects around our home, starting with that master bedroom of ours. I just won’t be able to get to comments and visit for those weeks because I need to be offline to get this home in order and organized. This is how the month of January always is here at our place. I can’t wait for all things Spring now because that is my second favorite time of the year.

Thank you Lisa. That camera was a surprise because it was in a little surprise toy box where you don’t know what you are getting until after you open the bag in the box. Stocking surprises are my favorite things to open.
