Sunday greetings and a box of blessings.

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you are all well. I forgot to schedule a pre-post of Sunday’s greetings last week before we headed up north to get Our little Red House ready for Winter. This post comes a little late. Was going to be up north for awhile but a snow storm started blowing in this weekend. We only had a small pile of logs inside, and one small basket of kindling in the mud room.

We were not ready at all. Black ice was in the forecast for up on the rim so when the power went out, we decided to pack up and head back to the city before the worst of the storm hit. Next on our list is to get some wood to store up there.

I was a little scared of the trip, especially with the strong winds we were headed into. Being on a cliff for part of the trip is scary enough without weather conditions . So for all of you keeping me and my family in your prayers, thank you for that. You are all so kind. Prayers to you all as well.

We had a safe drive back to the city. Just a little rain, and the wind died down once we got on the road. The wind was so bad, that the screen door at our place kept slamming shut. We have to fix that later.

We were treated to all kinds of beautiful sky art. On the drive in (day of the election) there was a double rainbow. It was when we were up on the cliff. I didn’t have a camera ready for the shot.

The Sunrises were gorgeous as well. We got Our Little Red House painted in three days, trim and all.

I wish I would have had more time to explore and take some pretty shots for everyone but that storm blew in and we had to get out before the roads became dangerous.

We have four wheel drive, but we had work to get back to in the city. Sometimes the road up north becomes so bad that they have to close them down until the weather permits safe passage. There are so many trees turning the beautiful colors of Fall up by Cherry creek behind Our Little Red House. It is another world up there. I could have had some pretty Fall photos to share…maybe next time. So many hours in the day and they were all used up for repairs this time.

We are so tired from a marathon of working. We went up on election day. I just did not want to have to sleep through fireworks, gunshots and sirens all night. That is the cities in our country right now. Now our country is split. This election was an ugly one. I will not go into too much detail to that, just know that it is a scary time in our country right now with this split. It is better when results aren’t so close. When the country is this divided it’s never a good thing. It is not over, there are more battles coming and this is what is so disheartening. My prayer is that we all have more peace, love our neighbors, and there are no more battles or wars. No suffering or hate…just kindness and love. Something I have been praying for since a little girl and no matter what I will always continue.

So here is today’s bible verse from my friend’s box of blessings. As always, I have no idea what verse I will be pulling out of the box when I do this and they always seem to go with what we need to hear that week I post. Keep peace in your heart, no matter what happens, is what I always tell the ones I love.

For He shall stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who would oppress his soul.

                         Psalm 109:31

Stay strong everyone, stay safe, spread kindness, love one another and God bless you all from all of us at Our Little red House. For all of you who need them right now…BIG HUGS FROM ARIZONA.

Sometimes it feels like the world needs a completely new chapter. There are times in life when we are confronted with the reality that we are not in control of the world around us. Yet, there is still so much we can control, even with the politics and pandemic spinning the world in a chaos. We can eat healthy and exercise. We can choose what we watch and listen to. We can always control our attitude and response towards the people and events around us. Thanks for sharing and stay safe 😀 Aiva

    1. So smart, such words of wisdom, thank you. We can only control the environments we live in. If the environment turns on us, guess it is time to leave that environment as they say. Best to always stay positive and spread human kindness whatever place we live in. If people become confrontational, that is when things turn ugly. Neighbor against neighbor, family against family and friends no longer speaking to one another, those are frightening things. Best to always stay close and help each other out. You and your family stay safe as well and give your little girl a big hug for me.
