Been a couple months since I have done a TP craft. I am sure there are plenty of you out there that still have a stash of these somewhere.Remember the mad rush to buy up as many rolls as possible? Don’t think we will ever forget that part to this crazy year of 2020.
You can use any paper tube, doesn’t have to be toilet paper rolls. This is pretty easy too, and doesn’t take a lot of time to make.

Supplies needed:
Empty TP roll
Red, gray, white, black felt.
Fabric scraps.
Scissors
Glue
Pom poms
Pipe cleaners
Wooden beads (noses)
Faux fur (beards)
Small holiday embellishments like tiny pine cones (optional)
Step 1. Cut scraps of felt into square shapes tp wrap around your rolls. You can add several layers for added detail. This is what will be the outfit part of your gnomes.

Step 2. After you have decided on the design of your outfit glue around TP. I used tacky glue but a hot glue gun makes things faster.

Step 3. Cut out a triangle from your faux fur and glue to top of TP. If you have an exacto knife use that and try to cut through back of faux fur fabric without disturbing or cutting the front where the fur is.

Step 4. Make little hats using scrap fabrics or felt. Cut two triangles out and sew up the sides inside out. Sew a small strip of faux fur trim to bottom of your hat (optional) then turn right side out.

Second style of hat.
Sew some faux trim to a rectangle of fabric.

Fold over and sew up open side inside out.

Turn right side out and tie off top. You can glue a tiny pom pom to top or leave plain. With these hats you can also use tacky glue to put them together of you don’t like sewing.

Make arms by taking a pipe cleaner and cutting that in half, then wrap it with some felt and glue to the backs of your gnome bodies.

Once your hats are finished then glue then to top of your TP bodies. For the gnome noses you can use a pom pom, or a wooden bead like I did.

Glue nose between beard and hat. Now you have a cute little Swedish Tomte gnome to add to your holiday decor.

I have had these gnomes in my holiday decor for years but now they are all the rage it seems. If you can’t get out to buy your own remember you can make just about anything if you set your mind to it. Also saves you money this way and as always, it is better for our planet. Happy decorating everyone.

Thank you Aiva, have fun being creative and drink lots of hot cocoa for me. I will be making my yearly Gingerbread house this week. I am no expert but it is tradition here in our house and everyone loves eating it on Christmas eve.

That is too funny. Paper egg cartons are fun too. I used to make turtles. raccoons and I think crabs with egg cartons. It was so long ago but kids loved creating all kinds of critters with those paper egg cartons.
