Blogmas Day 11…melt and pour your own candy treats.

So easy and a ton of fun. All you need is a bag of chocolate chips, some candy sprinkles and edibles cookie decorations.

Put all your candy into cupcake holders to keep everything clean and organized. If you have small humans in your house believe me you will love this little tip.

Use all kinds of fun candy pieces to decorate your melted chocolate with. Just melt your chocolate chips in a glass measuring cup slowly, like 10 seconds at a time making sure to stir the chocolate each time.

After your chocolate has melted completely pour onto some parchment paper and then have everyone drop candy bits, nuts, colorful sprinkles and crushed candy canes over your melted chocolate. Put in freezer and let cool, then break up into little pieces. This is a fun way to include the kids in making sweet treats for the holidays. Tomorrow I will post how to package your chocolate treats.

ASD tips- too many sweets out on a table can be overwhelming. Try bringing out one cupcake container at a time. If non verbal encourage your children to communicate which candies they want through their communication devices. I used pecs books but now days everyone uses Ipads.

    1. They are skinny chocolates so it shouldn’t be too bad…just kidding. Oh man, sweets are our weakness here in this house. It is Christmas after all, so we have an excuse.
