10 Springtime DIY’s from Our Little Red House.

“ Spring will come and so will happiness, hold on. Life will get warmer.”

                                              Anita Krizzan

It’s looking a lot like Spring here in my home state of Arizona. Spring is a special treat for us desert dwellers, sadly it goes by fast. There is always a tiny bit of apprehension when the Spring season hits our area. We all look forward to these flower filled days. The shops fill up with Spring decor, flowers are everywhere along with a touch of pollen.

What really worries us Arizonians when Spring hits is the fact that we are only weeks away from the heat. Last year we had the hottest summer on record. None of us are looking forward to that happening again, let’s hope it doesn’t.

Since we are all in the Springtime spirit of things, I thought I go way back in the archives and pull up some of my Springtime DIY’s through the years. I have been so busy lately with the garden and trying to get some items ready for my friend’s shop up north. I haven’t had a chance to make up some new DIY’s for you all. Hope you all get a chance to make something pretty this Spring. It’s time to fill our homes and lives with lots of smiling flowers and bright colors. Here are my top 10 favorite DIY’s that I really enjoyed not only making but also sharing with you all.

  1. TP crafts-Lil baskets
Super tiny baskets that are perfect for jelly beans.
Flowers from my garden made perfect potpourri for some pretty lace sachet bags.
Some vintage pots from a second hand shopping trip that we turned into some pretty planters for the home.
Such an easy craft and perfect for the kids to get involved with Springtime decorations.
I picked up these bunnies after Easter at the dollar store for .25 cents each, I had so much fun remaking this dollar day do over.
A trip we took years ago to visit my husband’s family in Italy. This post comes with a fun DIY yarn egg project as well.
My grandma got me started on plaster crafts. She used to do all kinds of craft projects for the Sunday school at her church.
This post is all about taking something old and turning it into something new and trendy.
Recipe for some homemade biscuits. Just like picnics out in a field or by a lake, Breakfast in a garden should be something everyone gets to experience at least once in their life.
  1. DIY Easter Terrariums
Our neighbors one morning brought over a bunch of empty glass peach jars. I turned them into some pretty mini terrariums.

Happy Springtime everyone, hope you all get a chance to make at least one of these projects.

    1. Thank you Dorothy. If you are like me you have baskets full of yarn somewhere. Just need glue and empty eggs.

So many amazing ideas, Cheri! 😉 It’s beginning to look like a Spring here in Sligo, too. The weather is warmer, daffodils are in full bloom, and the mornings are so much brighter. Give it a few more weeks and we’ll be enjoying all the benefits of this beautiful season. Have a lovely day. Aiva 🙂

    1. I bet it is beautiful. I love looking through books and magazines where there are green fields and little streams of water. Green is such a beautiful color.

Hi friend! I LOVE the DIY’s you chose. I’m especially fond of the crosses and the thrift store planters. Such beautiful pieces. As always, you amaze me with your gifts!

I pray that the Summer temps are much lower for y’all in Arizona this year too. Bless your hearts. It was bad enough in coastal Virginia so I can’t imagine it there!

Lots of love and warm hugs coming your way. ♥️

    1. I have seen photos of Virginia and it is so green over there and so beautiful. Also, everyone seems so nice too. Here in Phoenix (Maricopa county Arizona) there is a coldness to this city. There are good people in pockets of cold people and in the summer the rage seems to go up. This past two years our city has gotten worse and it is starting to get scary. There are several violent incidents happening all over the place. Lots of complaints against our politicians here, especially our Mayor here, she is not really loved like she believes. There are good people, kind people, compassionate and considerate people but they are becoming fewer and fewer it seems when I am out there in the city. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers, we need that for sure. The whole state needs it, especially Phoenix. Big hugs back to you from all of us out here in Arizona.
