Dollar day do over- wooden planter house.

“ The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.”

Alright, I forgot something. I forgot to take a finished photo of my dollar day do over for this month because I gifted it to my mother-in-law for Easter before I took a photo. That’s life for you.

I actually have a photo of the finished painted product just not the whole packaged product. Once painted I added some pretty plants to it and then wrapped it in cello with a big beautiful bow. It was so pretty.

So I will share two dollar day projects I finished to make up for that. And again I forgot to photograph the finished products for both of these items.

You see my husband was on his way out the door to deliver breakfast to his mom and I still needed to get the card signed plus the gift packaged for Easter morning and out he went with my dollar day do over before I realized that was one of my DIY projects to share with everyone.

First project is this wooden house. I am pretty sure they have them at most craft stores if you all would like to paint one up yourselves. I purchased mine at Goodwill for $1.

I painted it with some left over yellow and white paint I had on hand.

Then I decoupaged fabric and added details to it like little flowers and tiny doors.

Afterwards, and this is the part I forgot to photograph, I added a couple small pots with plant clippings from my garden. Then I got my giant roll of cello wrap out and wrapped it up like a basket. And tied it off with a giant satin ribbon. It was so pretty. This little house would also look cute in a child’s room filled with crayons and art supplies.

I also decorated a clear glass plate for cookies.

You can find clear glass plates at major craft stores or second hand shops for $1 or under. Find a pretty fabric print to decoupage to the back. Use the plate as a template to trace around.

Once fabric is cut out add glue to back of plate and press down fabric. Decoupage over the outside of the fabric as well. Make sure fabric is ironed with no wrinkles.

Add cookies and wrap up with a big bow.

Happy dollar day do overs everyone. I hope you all find some great bargains out there to repurpose. Mother’s Day is coming up here in America and these gifts would make pretty Mother’s Day gifts too. It is a hard time for a lot of people out in the world, remember it isn’t how expensive a gift is, it’s the little things that mean the most. All gifts that come from a place of love are the best gifts out there. Just calling someone up and saying I love you is a gift all on it’s own.
