Arizona shopping adventures…lots and lots of pumpkin stuff.

This is just a fun selection of photos of Halloween and Fall items that are for sale here in our part of the woods. The stores here in our city started putting out Fall décor during the summer. I believe this was late August. I’m not sure how it is now though with all the shortages out there. I haven’t been back to some of these stores in awhile.

I’m always asking myself…do we really need some of these items? Just saying. No judgment from me. I too will pick up something that makes me smile that has no value other then in that moment, as I held it in my hands…it was cute. I’m such a sucker for anything I believe is adorable.

I believe this pandemic has opened a lot of our eyes out there. This holiday season, some may be complaining and getting very upset with these shortages, while others will finally see the beauty in what the holidays are truly about. What Christmas really means.

Instead of waiting in long lines to purchase something that someone else a few people down that same line want, more and more people will instead spend time together, having meals with one another, and uniting. Hand made decorations will be a trend more this season and the simple things will finally be appreciated. At least this is something I hope and pray for. That more of us out there choose our love ones over material objects.

Funny how plans change, how something meant to maybe do something else, does a beautiful opposite thing instead…for good of course. The screens will lie, telling us all that these shortages are stealing Christmas and ruining it for everyone…but many of us out there already know the truths to that and that is, that this Christmas many will turn to loving each other instead, not things.

This Christmas will be a Christmas from the past. We will look to the ones we love to realize just how blessed we all are, and how important it is to just have someone by our side who brings us joy instead of buying so many plastic items that only bring tiny moments of feeling joy. Things are just things, but people…well now, that’s a whole other ball game. Think you get the point.

Happy shopping adventures everyone. Hope you enjoy these photos. Remember stay safe out there and if you know someone who is alone during the holidays, give them a hello and a baked item this season. There will never be a shortage of kindness, remember that, and best of all, it’s always free.

I need a scarecrow for my little city garden out back.
This store was ready for October. I have never come across so many pumpkin items in my life.

Have to be honest here…these pumpkins are really freaky looking.
I purchased all tiny pumpkins this year. I usually get the giant ones to carve and roast the seeds. Since the pandemic we stopped doing trick or treating at our door.
I have seen recipes online for pumpkin face masks and how well they work. Maybe I should go back and get a giant pumpkin to make face care with.
What a cute candy bag.
Pumpkin glasses and Pez dispensers, remember those?
Window displays were one of my favorites things to do when I worked retail.
She doesn’t look scary at all, just sick or green with envy.
I would still like to know what the surprise is in these pumpkin balls.
Lots of wooden crafts out there lately. Think this explains our wood shortage. I am being funny of course but sometimes I wonder where all these rumors and gossip of certain shortages come from. Prices of wood were very expensive for awhile, then went down and now will probably go up again…because of the “Wood shortages” of course.
Uh oh, found something cute, best for me if I don’t pick it up. Too adorable.
What a cool wreath.

That’s it, did you see anything new that isn’t in your area? Seems different states get different items. I bought several small pumpkins (Main photo). Two medium sized Styrofoam pumpkins. Three little white houses, a little wooden fox, a Fall mug for hot cocoa, and some faux leaves. Oh, and some pumpkin spice for home baked cookies later.

There are so many ways to decorate your home in a tasteful and festive way for fall. Pumpkins, gourds, fall foliage, and pinecones are a handful of popular themes that can serve as inspiration. You can mix all of these elements together across your mantle or you can stagger them artfully down your front steps. I love to add a touch of autumn dazzle to my display with this simple addition: I gather an assortment of colourful fall leaves and use wire to fasten them to a length of rope to form a beautiful seasonal garland. Using temporary adhesive hooks, I simply attach the garland to my mantel, and in a process, have heaps of fun making it and save money too

    1. So true. I bet that garland is super pretty. My daughter always laughs at how I bring in twigs and branches to decorate with during the holidays but I think it looks beautiful. It doesn’t take a lot to make a home amazing for the holidays and it is fun. At least I think so.

I like your message that Christmas isn’t about things. It’s about people, love and family. I think the little mouse dressed in pumpkin attire is very cute!
