October updates and favorite blog posts.

Fear is a chose. We can choose to be brave.

October was a fun month for us all. I am still dealing with the uncertainties of the future but this month I kind of took a break from thinking about all that. Kind of. I still feel like I am in that movie Body Snatchers sometimes. I am too honest about real emotions sometimes, sharing my fears and just what I believe could be happening. There is a huge Anne Frank vibe out there too.

October being the month it is, gives weird a free ride I suppose. Okay, let me see, what happened this month.

We went on a road trip. Got to see some Fall this year.

I did a whole post on that trip. So fun. Cool breezes, people out everywhere eating, shopping and exploring by the creeks. It reminds me of those pro walk vlogs I watch on YouTube sometimes. Like a where’s Waldo in live action. I especially like the pro walks that are by the seasides.

We went on a hike and did a little shopping in a couple of the towns.

I worked on organizing out in the garden some more. Do you guys ever start organizing and cleaning only to discover a new space to do over, or something else to add to the make over? One project turns into another and then another. This happens to my craft closet when I organize it every few months. I find all kinds of things I want to finish that I had put away for a latter day. Usually something I picked up on sale somewhere or found at a bargain price. My daughter does the same thing when dusting her book shelf. Getting excited about books she forgot she was going to read. My husband and son aren’t really into organizing.

My garden table is a mess. I may redo the whole thing.

I did some second hand shopping this month. Bought some T’shirts for my son and chunky vintage sweaters for my daughter. I also found some basket boxes for small storage as well a large basket for the newest yarn colors I picked up when shopping up north.

I’m still working on that craft book, now I understand why some people say it can take years working on a book. I resorted to not putting any deadline on it. Just doing it when I can. Talking about it, telling myself I was going to have it all done by a certain time only made things unfun for me. It will be Autism friendly. Lots of tips and suggestion to include ASD children and adults. This I have brought up several times throughout my updates so I thought I let my followers know that I am still working on that bucket list goal of mine.

My little art studio consist of an old coffee table we upcycled, an old sewing machine table we redid and little bits and bobs of prompts I use in some of my DIY photos.

Taking photos of a future blog posts as well as a page in the book. Some photos pass the test and some don’t. There have been many times I have made something that I wasn’t happy with either the products or the photos and had to start all over again.Think this could be the main reason my craft book is taking so long.

While I was out in the woods foraging this month I picked up all kinds of fun nature art supplies. Made a little bottle top tree using pine needles from a dead tree branch. I am still working on it. It’s a chunky little tree.

Helped my daughter repaint and make her room pretty this month. Still need to sew up some sort of curtains for the closet area. She choose banana yellow and white for the walls. I will be sewing up green cacti pillows for the bed. She is going for a Santa Fe sort of look with succulent plants and cows.

That’s about it this month, a very slow and calm month. My favorite posts this month are all about Fall colors…

And if you want to take a nice drive through a beautiful Fall landscape here’s a fun clip to watch.

The best news for October was that my cousin’s daughter had her baby. Remember months ago how I asked you all to please, please pray for my cousin’s daughter. Her water broke at 20 wks. God answered another pray, the baby was born last Tuesday. She is so beautiful, weighing in at 5lb pounds and healthy. So many things to be thankful to God for. Mother and baby are doing great. My cousin’s daughter was in that hospital bed for a very long time, so happy they get to go home now. Thank you everyone for keeping them in your prayers.

Prayers go out to all the lost and hurt people in the world that are searching for their own answers to the fears they have during these times. Pray that they are not influenced by the manipulators out there. Pray that they see truths. That more lies get exposed and come to light. Some people are loosing hope listening to some of those wolves out there and that is when they loose their faith. Pray that all those scary wolves out there finally get exposed for who they truly are. Pray for the sick around the world, that God sends his angel warriors to protect them as they heal. And please pray for my daughter who has jury duty, that she is safe and doesn’t get exposed to anyone sick. I just did my jury duty call a few months ago. The person arrested took a plea. Seems our house has been targeted for jury duty . No one else on our street has been called in. So please keep my family in your prayers. Our city is run by some corrupt politicians in my opinion. Stay safe out there and God bless you and yours from all of us at Our Little Red House.

Have a very Happy November.

Coming up for November

ASD tabletime crafts…dollar store herb sensory garden play.

DIY recycled can planters.

Also, I might try to turn this sand mold into either a plaster gnome or cement gnome for the holidays. I picked it up for .25 cents at the dollar store.

    1. Thank you Lisa, I am having fun again with my craft book. I like it that way, no stress, just being creative and having fun with the photos. My cousin’s new baby is so chunky and adorable. Reminds me of those little chubby cherubs. The garden gazebo cover got eaten by our hot Arizona sun. It just became dust after awhile. There was no shade out there and our sun is horrible with it’s intensity. Anyway, when ever my husband trims our Mesquite tree in the front yard he always give me the branches. I weave them through the frame of the old gazebo that was not made well and is falling apart. The neighbor’s next door have a vine that grows everywhere and it found it’s way over that gazebo and all those branches. Now it is a giant weaved network of vines, branches and a gazebo frame with no shade. The branches I keep weaving around it keep adding shade now. People who come over and visit always are impressed with that area because it doesn’t look like a typical Phoenix back yard with rocks and cacti. It is very pretty sitting under it.
