Remember this you guys? I visited this store a couple months ago. I love paper. When I am organizing, paper is the hardest section in my pile of messes to go through. I have little scraps of photos, quotes, art, etc…all paper. I have about three baskets filled with paper, stickers and magazine pages for art projects. I always leave my paper pile messes for last when I am cleaning up my craft office. Telling myself I will get to that latter. Latter was last night for my pattern sheets and floral card sheets. I was up till midnight getting everything in order. It was fun though, I even watched an old classic Lifetime movie while I worked on it.
Paper stores are terribly tempting for someone like me. I have to be careful that I don’t load up on too many things. The virus made some of us go to our comfort areas to get through the ugliness going on out there and my comfort space is crafting and art. This is why you guys haven’t seen a whole lot of visits from me lately. I have been cleaning up my craft office. Right now while I write this post up I have a kitchen table full of packaging supplies to organize.
With Christmas so close, the small shops are my favorite places to find unique gifts that the mass produced stores usually don’t have in stock.
At the paper store they have something for everyone. There were books there as well. A good book to me is the perfect gift for that hard to shop for person in your life. I mean, come on, who doesn’t like a good book. My mother-in-law doesn’t like reading a lot so word searches and magazine short stories are her favorites. Her birth language is Italian so that could be one of the reasons she doesn’t read a lot of our huge English books here in America. She can read and write English really well though, which she learned while she worked at her brother’s salon in England long ago. I think that is so cool when someone can speak several languages. Anyway, my point is, is that everyone likes to read something…don’t they?
I suppose if you only had one place to shop at for everyone on your list you could find something for Dad here too. Just have to be a little more creative.
They even have a selection of pens. They make great stocking stuffers.
Guess what my favorite part about this store is…the paper. Like that was a hard guess. If you like pretty papers then you will also love this store. I’m the same way with fabrics too.
There is a huge work table in the back to make paper flowers or wrap things up.
Their selection of fabric toys was different then what you normally see out in the world. I am used to seeing animals, teddy bears, and character dolls. I have never seen pretzels and flower pots before. I like them. The stuffed pretzel would go good with a gift card to a pretzel store. So yummy those pretzels.
They also had miniature kits. Think I found a dad gift, especially a father of young children. How fun would this be for a dad and his kids to work on together. Imagine big fingers and tiny fingers working together to make something using these tools. Might be funny, yeah, it would be funny.
I have a recipe box I need to redo, this one is so pretty, maybe I will do something like this.
This little bag below could be used for so many things. A pretty make up bag or a little bag to hold your art supplies and drawing pencils in and even a small sewing kit. Wait, what about a first aide kit? A tiny snack bag for new moms out there, to throw in their diaper bags. Can you come up with some other fun ideas for this little bag?
Have any of you ever made giant tissues flowers for weddings and decorations for parties? I always loved making paper flowers. Paper flowers are trendy now.
Paper animal kits and 3D cards are also fun to make. This would be a fun one for a kid’s birthday party, something to keep them busy before the cake.
I loved their huge selection of stamps. I shared this photo in an earlier post. My favorite is the little hedgehog stamp…can you find him? I also love the little paw prints.
These crayons were so cool, very different. Which reminds me…I have to get busy melting down some old crayons. I am making coloring kits for the neighbor’s kids across the street. I have the cutest cactus mold to melt them in. I hope it comes out. Think it will make a nice Christmas gift.
I will have to go back again to this paper store to see what’s available for the holidays. I want to make some paper ornaments for our tree this year. This year we got our Christmas tree permit in time. We will be picking one out in the forest area up where Our Little Red House is. The permits to cut a tree from our state’s wooded areas are only $15. Okay, that’s it, happy shopping adventures to you all.
