Wild walks

I haven’t been keeping up with the wild walks. It is heating up here which makes zoo visits a little uncomfortable after certain hours. This weeks photos from our walking adventures at the zoo will be on desert animals. All the animal photos I am sharing with you today are animals my family and I have seen in the wild as well. Javelina are everywhere in Arizona.

The mountain lion we saw in the wild was much bigger then the one at the zoo. It was more muscular too. The Javelina’s I saw in person were in a group and there was one with two tiny babies that were nursing their mother. It was so adorable. The momma and her babies were witnessed from our vehicle in the evening hours.

I wouldn’t get close to any momma out in the wild. They get aggressive protecting their babies. Even birds will fly down and attack people if they get too close to their nests. This happened to me once when I was walking around a lake up north one Spring when we were up at Our Little Red House. A bird kept flying down low and getting close to us when we around one area of the lake. We walked away to give it some peace of mind.

There are also plenty of bunnies out everywhere here in Arizona. Hope you all get a chance to have some fun walking adventures yourself. If you are quiet enough you will see all that life out there.

Love your photos! It is heating up out there. It is always too soon for 100 degree days, isn’t it?

    1. Thank you, yes, it is getting hot out there. It is too soon, it’s only May. I fear August.

Always too soon. ☹️ I dread August! It is a good time to leave, if one can swing it.
