DIY a toy planter truck.

I saw this in a magazine and thought how cute is this. I just happen to have a tiny ornament truck packed away in my Christmas supplies. I wasn’t sure if it would work but thought I give it a go.

I used acrylic paint to change the color closer to the truck in the photo. Plastic primer spray paint would have worked better but acrylic paint was all I had on hand. This was a weekend project and I didn’t want to leave the house to shop, so I looked around to see what was available in my own supply.

It took several coats of acrylic paint and I didn’t have the right color so I had to mix several blue acrylic paints I had to find a teal/turquoise blue color.

The back of the truck was filled with some faux fir branches, they were glued in pretty good. I had to use pliers to pull everything apart. I have all kinds of baby cacti that I have been growing from my larger cacti out in the garden and found two very tiny cacti that were just the right size to fit in my tiny truck.

This is such a cute idea, taking toy trucks and turning them into planters. A larger truck would have been much nicer to work with. I am sure they have them in stores out there. Are these trending right now? I am so bad at that sort of thing, following trends that is, but I do see things sometimes that I like and want to put in my home. I have learned that trying to keep up with trends only adds debt and it is better to live debt free, as much as possible that is.

I’ve seen old luggage also turned into beautiful planters with succulents. The craziest and funniest planter I have ever seen was an old toilet. Even old tires in some neighborhoods (no HOA neighborhoods) are used as planters. Have any of you seen some unusual planters? I think next I will try to recreate this little elf plate down below. Happy crafting everyone. I am off for a few weeks from blogging, thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I hope you all are having a wonderful summer. Stay safe out there and God bless you all.
