Here in America we do something called Christmas in July. Mostly it’s just another reason to shop indoors when everything is hot outside and there’s not a whole lot to do. It’s not like the real Christmas. Just a summer time event to get early Christmas décor made, shop for Winter décor and maybe even decorate a table in our homes with a small tree on the table. I don’t even know when it started or how it started, just all of a sudden there were ads on television calling sales a Christmas in July event. I believe it helps some people with those summer time blues, especially the people who live in the warmer and hotter states, the ones who are stuck inside. Although anymore, every place seems to be too hot. Too much cabin fever going on so we all pull out our Christmas craft projects to work on.
My favorite part about Christmas in July is finding new ornaments to add to my collection of vintage wooden ornaments I collect. Most of the second hand and antique shops bring out all their Christmas items to sell during the month of July. Here are just a few of the ornaments I have found so far. I bought most of these ornaments at a church sale in June.
Do any of you shop early and celebrate Christmas in July by making crafts and hand made gifts? Hope you all are having a nice summer, stay safe out there and God bless you all. I’m off from blogging for a few weeks, thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.
