ASD table time crafts…bean bags.

Bean bags are a fun sensory toy to use for playtime skills with your children with ASD. And they are so easy to make. You can use beans, rice, plastic pellets and even tiny weighted Bee bee’s.

Just draw out some simple shapes and sew inside out, then turn right side out and fill with weighted materials like beans, rice and plastic pellets. Make sure you sew the bags tight so there is no way for the pellets to get out.

If using weighted pellets then I would sew those into smaller bags then stuff those into the larger bean bags along with fiber stuffing.

If you are giving these as toys then make sure to use safety eyes as well.

Never give these to children who are very young for safety reasons. I never had any problem with any of the bean bags I have made coming apart. Still, it’s good to be extra careful. This was another older post of mine from the vault. It originally was under Dollar day do overs, A post where I take something I bought for $1 and turn it into something else, just a fun challenge. In this case I turned an old wool blazer into lady bug bean bags. Happy re-purposing and crafting everyone.
