DIY pom pom crafts

A variety of pom poms we made one week out in the kid’s playroom/Arizona room.

I am a big believer in keeping children off the screens as much as possible. Doing crafts with the kids helps keep them busy and teaches them skills. Yarn crafts are fun and frugal ways to make cute animals and pom poms to decorate with or play with. Making your own toys is always fun.

An empty animal cookie container makes the perfect container for your yarn.

There are all kinds of animals that you can create. Here are a variety of pom pom animals that we have given out over the years. They also look great on wrapped packages.

Pom pom hat and body were sculpted into a little gnome.
A color sorting game.
The legs were needle felted.
Paper disc pom pom makers. made from empty circle boxes for cardboard.
Two light yellow pom poms, a Popsicle stick, tiny beads for eyes and felted wings make adorable plant picks.
Pom poms are great for counting and early learning math skills.
Add legs using pipe cleaners.
Glue feathers into pom poms to make beautiful birds.
Even the legs and arms were pom poms, that were just shaped into shapes. A tiny store bought pink pom pom makes the perfect nose.
My favorite animal to make are little hedgehogs.

There are several ways to make pom poms. Some people use their fingers, some people use forks. I use paper discs that I make or you can buy plastic pom pom makers from most craft stores. Right now our Dollar tree is selling them, for just $1.25. Happy crafting everyone.

John 3:16

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believe in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
