What’s trending for Fall decor.

I don’t really follow the trends, but I do like to see what is trending. Right now in Fall decor they are saying that Grandma decor is trending, but I believe that has been trending for awhile. They called it cottage core for awhile there…is cottage core still a thing?

You know, I think what is actually trending is what we all just like anyway…what our hearts tell us makes us happy. It’s whatever you love to make a home your home.

Sometimes I will go to what I call the fancy malls when joking with my grown kids. I will walk through those beautiful home furniture stores getting ideas and just enjoying how well done they decorate those displays in the stores…they look great.

I haven’t been to Home goods for two years now. The city I used to live in had so many of them, and now we have to drive for about an hour to shop at one…but that’s okay. I get my decor mostly from nature now or what I make. It was a good trade in my opinion.

We have a dollar tree. I don’t normally like those too much either, plus they have really increased in price, no longer a dollar store, most things are $3 it is looking like. I did find some nice craft supplies for some Christmas classes we will be teaching. And I found some really nice faux evergreen branches that I will be attempting to turn into a small Scandinavian type tree.

If grandma type decor is trending for homes then blankets and table clothes and pretty bowls, kitchen mugs and glasses, old art prints from magazines…I think those will be items to add to our homes for some character. Or do what I do…just buy what you love and decorate however you want…it’s your home…you’re the trend setter in your own homes. Here are a few Fall items I saw on my shopping adventures.

I liked these glass pumpkins.
Tiny wooden spoons. What are they used for? Soup, pudding, or maybe ice cream? I use the large wooden spoons when making pasta sauce.
I like candles, but anymore I have notice the fragrance bothers my breathing, some of these candles are not so good for asthmatics.
You can never go wrong with mugs.
I think Scarecrows are so cute.
This was a cute pillow but I think plain earth tone pillows are better when decorating.
I did see a lot of velvet decor…is this what’s trending?
I collect wooden objects. These mushrooms were beautiful. You have to be careful though, some of those items only look like wood and they are resin…just plastic.
This would be a fun DIY project.
Old tins look pretty on a bare wall.
I also liked these ceramic pumpkins. I would keep them in the kitchen all year long.
I noticed some people decorate rooms with vintage clothing hanging on hangers,
Anything hand stitched is nice to me.
Old postcards look beautiful framed and hanging on the wall.

I bought a couple pumpkins for the front porch, some ceramic pumpkins and a tiny scarecrow for small terrariums. I also found this really pretty ceramic lantern for $5, it had a price tag of $53 as it’s original retail price. I added some colorful fairy lights to it. At night there are flower patterns all over our walls from this lantern.

What it looks like with lights inside. It makes a really pretty pattern on the wall when it’s on.

That’s it…Happy shopping adventures everyone. I just need to make a Fall banner to hang above the mantle on the fireplace and a Fall wreath. We’re keeping things simple.

Faux flowers look so real. What a beautiful bouquet.
