The little lake in October.

There won’t be a lot of photos with this one. The light is changing here, it was very bright at the lake, the sun was spotlighting all the lake’s beauty. I took what photos I could and then my battery died. I forgot to pack an extra one in my pocket so it was just a peaceful walk with hardly any photos this time.

Actually, we spent some time sitting by the lake for awhile and had a picnic breakfast first. Time passes by quickly when you just sit and listen to the songs of nature. Our breakfast was biscuits and gravy. I haven’t done that in awhile…months in fact. Haven’t had biscuits and gravy in months. It’s one of my favorites, but not normally on our weekly menu anymore.

Now if breakfast is eaten, it’s a quick boiled egg, maybe some fruit and a handful of nuts for later. We are way behind on the rebuild . Winter is coming, so no time to waste. Our walks are also few and far between, hopefully we will be able to start some sort of schedule where we can do that more often. May have to get up super early for a walk and then head over to the old property to work.

It was peaceful as always at the lake. We watched the ducks flying above the lake, that was nice. On the way out of our house, I looked up above me and saw a huge bird flying above our front yard. It was a large bald eagle. What a sight…right there flying above us.

“Look at that…it’s a huge bald eagle” I said while pointing up.

The leaves are falling. A breeze would blow by, treating us with a sprinkle of nature’s confetti, celebrating this beautiful season we are in right now. I call it the dance of the leaves…doesn’t it look like they are dancing together as they slowly drift to the ground ?

We have a road trip planned, driving through those roads where the trees swallow up everything and the colors pop with amazement . I can’t wait for that. I want to grab all those leaves up into piles, trying to hold onto their beauty.

They’re only here for a short time. And they don’t stay those colors for long either. My camera is the only tool that can capture that little bitty moment in time, thus, making sure it lives on forever.

After our lake walk we stopped off at one of my favorite thrift shops. I wanted to see what they had out for Christmas, they put Christmas out in October. At this little shop they include Christmas on their sale days. So whatever tag the color of the day is, it’s all .50 cents, even furniture, and that includes holiday.

I found the prettiest wreath. I was going to make one, may still do that, but this one was too pretty to pass on. It now hangs on our front door, the glass door, we have two doors. The glass door just lets light in for us. It looks really pretty when you are able to look outside at all the trees and wildlife early in the morning. I open the door as soon as the sun comes out. I would have never had a glass door back in the city we came from…we had a security door instead. We still keep everything locked, things happen everywhere.

We also passed out free Fall coloring pages and craft kits in town, dropping them off at our favorite stores, the library, and a couple little library stands for the local children. Fall break is on and the kids are out riding bikes and having picnics at the little creek areas…it’s such a beautiful time.

Not one of my coloring pages…I haven’t had much time lately to design coloring pages. I have a really nice design waiting for me to design that includes lots of acorns.

Happy walking adventures everyone. Stay safe out there and God bless you all.
