Back to the Fiber Fest.

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year. When I heard they were having another Fiber festival I had to go once again to load up on my needle felting supplies. This year I bought some needles too, not just the wool.

We met some really nice people again, new artists and new farmers.

One woman made such beautiful rugs. Her daughter gave us a demonstration on how to make them. Both the mother and daughter team are talented.

This would be such a fun activity to help with fine motor skills. She made it look so easy too.
Scraps of fabric for rug hook kits. I would love to try my hand at this but for now I am working on needle felting. I may try this eventually, it good to switch crafts up and learn new skills when it comes to crafting.
The artist that made this rug got permission to copy this painting. It was much beautiful in person seeing this rug.

There were many 4-H kids were out selling their sheep’s wool. I think that is so important. Teach your children skills that will help them later in life when they are adults.

There was even an Angora rabbit greeting everyone. People stopped by to feel how soft she was. Like feathers, just a sweet little bunny. I ended up buying some sheep’s wool from their station.

I needed some mixed colors for some cookie cutter wool ornaments I am working on. I mostly bought red, but I also bought some brown for gingerbread men too.

It was so hard to choose which vendor to buy from. So many beautiful colors and varieties.

Now I have a huge bag of felting supplies to make Christmas ornaments with. It was a beautiful drive to the festival too. The Fall trees are at their peak. I’m sharing some of the drive to the festival and the festival itself. The perfect day to be out in the country. Happy felting everyone. Stay safe out there and God Bless you all.

Driving to the festival,
I bought a lavender bag to store with my wool I bought.
I would hang these rugs on the wall all the time. They are too pretty to step on. I would always worry about them getting dirty. They are art, not really meant for walking on.
Curly Q’s. So many to choose from.
There wasn’t a lot of loose wool like this to needle felt with. Last year they had more. I don’t think a lot of people are needle felting anymore. It’s very calming to me.
I love seeing all the colors. They hand dye the wool.
This is one of my favorite colors. I always think of the sea.
One of the animals I want to try and felt or sew a pattern for.
These dryer balls were giant. I am making these for Christmas gifts this year.
This is on my list of things to try, wet felting along with needle felting, creating pretty felt type paintings like this.
I waited and waited, trying to take this photo of some sweaters that were hand made, but still there was someone in the background. I try to keep people out of the photos I take. Everyone was going around with their phones taking videos and photos and no one paid any attention to that, but carry an actual professional camera and some people hate that. I choose to use my camera instead of the phone.
The clouds were so pretty that day.
This booth had all kinds of bags for sale. I liked the ones with tiny dogs all over it.
They had a varoety of Swedish wash clothes too. Have you ever used those? I bought mine from a Swedish festival back in my old neighborhood they used to have every year at the Lutheran church we attended. You just throw them in the laundry to clean up after using them and they dry up well for storage too.
All sheep related products.
The drive to the festival. I love seeing all the cows everywhere. I would love to be able to felt a scene like this.
One of the rugs the mother/daughter team made.
I bought a huge bag of wool from this vendor and this sheep in photo. I can’t remember the name of the sheep but the lady who was selling from her farm told me that sheep’s wool was the most popular because that was the last of her wool available. I really liked the texture when I felt it.
Look at the details in this rug.
The best yarns are the wool yarns, so soft..
I like to add loose ringlets like this to my little sheep ornaments I make.
Super soft mittens.
