Blogmas day 10…There’s ice out there.

It was very cold to this Arizona native the day I decided to put our trees up. We are pretty much finished with the outside decorations and now we have to put up the Christmas trees and decorations around the house.

I made some paper snowflakes to tape up on the window. I don’t know how long this will last though. Between the weather with cold windows and a kitten in the house, I don’t believe they will last long.

Once Pippi woke up from her nap she was hanging off the curtains jumping around and ripping them all down as soon as I left the room. I made new ones to replace the shredded ones. Maybe for now, these paper snowflakes make perfect cat toys. Like the box at Christmas being the perfect toy for the kids when all is said and done.

I have a whole process in decorating the tree. I have to get the ribbon out and fill in spaces on the tree. These are Scandinavian trees from IKEA. I couldn’t find the largest of the two trees we bought a couple years ago. I thought they were here. I went downstairs to check the garage…nope. Then I took everything out of the only two closets I thought they could be in…nope. So we had to head over to the historic home and check the outside shed over there.

Sela can’t wait to get to this tree once it’s decorated.

The sun was going to be gone in an hour and the temps were dropping fast. I found that tree in record time, especially once that wind came blowing down to get me going….cold, cold. It was in the outside shed, the one I want to turn into a little she shed house. It was so cold though, I didn’t stay in that shed for long. I like the cold though, it’s a nice change, especially as it doesn’t stay too long here, by mid week it will be sunny and warmish Fall temps again….I hope.

Ice on one of our bushes when we drove over to the historic home to search for the big tree,

I may still go check out the huge Christmas tree farm in the little town over, see what’s out there this year with live trees. Until then, our house is a mess, lots of clutter right now. Baskets of twigs for the fire place and furniture chairs I may move out to make room for the Christmas trees, sometimes you have to do that. It’s a whole process when getting ready for the holidays. After Christmas you just move everything back. Even my fireplace mantle is packed with clutter right now. Happy decorating everyone.

I have to restring these lights. Scandinavian skinny trees need tiny fairy lights and these lights are your standard tree lights, so too bulky and heavy. They are very colorful though, which I have been told is trending right now,
