I finished with the outside lights. I may add a giant star to one house though, I haven’t decided yet. I went a little overboard in some areas. I got that great deal on Christmas lights so I ended up putting lights everywhere. I still have lights left over so I may end up donating them.
I’m not seeing as many lights out on homes anymore. I don’t know what that is about. Just a few houses here and there. On our street there are four homes with lights and three homes with Christmas trees lit up inside their homes with their window curtains open so everyone can enjoy the lights driving by.

I also noticed that there are more colorful light’s being displayed compared to years before, I like that part a lot. We need more colors. They are hard to find in stores, so you will most likely have to order online.

There doesn’t seem to be as many light choices anymore. Seems that most holiday decor now is all about those blow up figures that light up in your front yards. Anyway, I’m just happy I was able to find some lights for a reasonable price. Everything seems to be increasing in price daily.

Check second hand shops, church sales, and ask around if any older couples that are no longer doing lights have some you can buy from them. Lights from the past always last longer…how many times have I written that.
Happy decorating everyone.

I have read the new trend for Christmas lights is that color is making a comeback. Since the true spirit of Christmas comes from within, let’s just sparkle and shine by sending out love. Your thoughtful lifestyle and holiday posts do just that! πππππππ

I find that holiday lights are a shared experience. Whether it’s neighbours decorating their homes or public light displays,Β the act of putting up lights fosters a sense of togetherness and thus brings that extra dose of magic to those dark winter days. And given how many people are consumed by the darkness, everyone needs to be the light in the world today. I am utterly delighted to finally be able to leave a comment on your wonderful post. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day π Aiva xx

Thank you Aiva, I’m turning on comments again as I have control over what gets published in comments so I have to be careful of negative comments. What you wrote here is so true. We have to be the light in the darkness. Last year we only had one house with lights on our street and I didn’t have time to put up any on our house but this year I started in October preparing and once we turned on our lights others started putting lights on their houses too, now we have four homes where we had only one last year. It makes the street look so pretty at night. And thanks for sharing all your beautiful family adventures with everyone…you live in a beautiful part of the world. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and blessed New Year.
