Once again, these days are flying by. I was going to have the whole house ready with decorations weeks before the big day and that just isn’t happening. I was only able to get a few things out to put everyone in a festive mood.

I made a wreath, so I can check that one off my list. I filled it with tiny ornaments and faux pine pickings, added real pine cones I collected on my walks, and then made a big red bow for it. But I didn’t keep it. An event is coming up in town and they were asking for holiday decor decorations, so I gave them my wreath this year.

For my home I used a red metal wreath that I bought years ago at an after Christmas sale…it works. Maybe I can make another wreath later.

I went to a parade…check that one off too. At the parade, I stepped into one of the shops to see what they had. They had the cutest little dog for sale. I brought it home and sat it on my tree. It reminds me of my little dog Fillipe I had so long ago. He was such a happy little fellow.

I found a bunch of my Christmas bags, and wrapping paper. I do a little of both, I wrap and I add gifts to bags. Everything has finally been unpacked from our move, some have been put back in storage for awhile. The only thing I haven’t gotten to is all the art we brought with us. Lots of glass frames are still taped up and bubbled wrapped in storage.

And I also found an ornament someone sent me years ago. I took a photo and sent it to the person who gifted it to me….
“Look what made the move, it’s hanging from my tree right now” .
Some of my Christmas decor was not packed as well as I thought and when I unwrapped it, it was broken. Then half the lights I packed were not working. That was disappointing because the colored lights are harder to find now. You all know I did end up replacing lights with lights I bought at a couple of rummage sales.

I still had my felted wool garland, and wooden houses to hang up. I unpacked those and added them to this years decor.

I stopped off at another antique store in town. It was still under construction last year I walked through it. They were painting the wood floors and decorating the rooms. A whole year went by and I haven’t been by to see it since then, been so busy trying to keep up with everything. Since it is Christmas time I took half a day off to stop by and see how it looks now. They have lots of cute booths and even a cute little bakery inside.

I bought some more little ornaments for my gift wrapped packages. They had so many nice items and the store was decorated really nice. Great displays in every room.

Last week we wrapped up all kinds of little surprised gifts to drop off at different locations around town for children to find. Secret Santa gifts of small inexpensive packages of tiny toys, stuffed teddies, chocolate candy and peppermint sticks. They’re craft projects and puzzle kits wrapped up. The craft sets are those diamond art kits. For the teens there are little boxes of colored nail polish, stickers, face masks and a variety of socks. The packages are label by age so who ever finds it knows it’s for a child or a teen.

Now I will spend the next couple of days baking treats. I’m going to try something different this year, more savory then sweet. My daughter will be making her bread and I will be making Swedish omelets to give out. I believe a home made breakfast might be a needed treat over so many sweet cookies and candies everyone usually gets…so savory it is.
I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas this year. Stay safe out there and God Bless you all.
