We went out, and let me tell you….trying to find a good parking spot and walking around ice is not such an easy thing . I want to experience the whole thing. So…after three days of the city salting and clearing most roads, and with temps warming up to melt the snow, we went out to see what there was to see.

What fun snow is. The schools are still closed for a couple more days, which means most families were out everywhere with their kiddos making snowballs and snowmen. Lots of sledding going on, even the local police were getting involved with that, jumping on some sleds next to the kids and having a little fun themselves.

We kept driving to see what there was to see. It reminds me of a Hallmark movie, I tend to write about that a lot right now, but it really does. I like sharing the positive, I think everyone needs more of that anyway.

I went out for some small walks, walking here and there, parking and walking, seeing what there was to see. How beautiful it is with how snow changes everything, like a whole new place took over while we were all sleeping . We wake up to a new world…it’s the craziest thing to me. How fast everything can change.

Here are some photos from yesterday’s walk, except for the fountain, there is one photo from a few days ago. I have a little bit of some free time right now being somewhat snowed in. The roads are still a bit of a mess, especially the back roads. We aren’t driving too much and when we went out it was in the afternoon when the roads were not as icy as they are in the mornings and evenings.

I will try to go for another walk later this week to see what there is to see. Maybe I will have some more photos to share to what it’s like in our part of the world. The snow is melting fast. The storm that is headed in this weekend is much smaller, just little flakes that they say wont stick for long.
I had a chance to go to the dollar store to see what new things they got in. Easter is already out. I picked up some seeds and Valentine cards to mail out to some of my friends. They only had one bag of my families favorite popcorn, white cheddar pop corn.
The shelves are still a little empty with food items, but there are plenty of Easter items right now. Socks were low too. No fuzzy socks, those are the best when snowed in…fuzzy socks, popcorn, a good movie with a warm fire. And speaking of fires…my kitten finally got to see one for the first time. I’m so glad our fireplace is enclosed. She is a curious little cuddle bug. Happy snow days everyone.

Your kitten will enjoy curling up on the floor in front of the fire if its anything to go by with my first two cats I had when I was a teenager.
Out of the two cats, I had to watch one in particular at first because she was going to lie-down on the hearth. I had to stop her a couple of times before she finally got the message of not being that close to the fire.
Watching the police join in with the fun of the snow would have been fun.

She eventually curled up in a little basket by the fireplace and fell asleep. The cats love watching the fire and being next to it’s warmth. I rather see police and everyone getting along…better that way for sure. Lots of smiles and giggles.

My husband and I had lots of layers on. It’s warming up here so hopefully next week we will be back to warmer days. I am enjoying the snow scenery, so beautiful.

Warming up… that will be so nice. Our pipes froze last night. This morning it was -9 F when I drove into the office.

That’s cold, I think the coldest it got here was negative 4. We replaced all our pipes with pecs after ours froze one year in Arizona, that was negative 8, had to replace everything.

We have this one area that seems to be especially vulnerable to the cold where the pipes come into the house.

Our weather has been too cold to get out and enjoy the snow. I’m glad you have been able to experience it.

I’ve been hearing that alot even here from people we know…they aren’t going out yet, too cold. It is very slippery too, too dangerous if you don’t have good hiking and weather boots on.
