It’s been a busy week for us here at Our Little Red House, I haven’t had a lot of time to blog lately. I see all the Spring DIY’s out there and want to create a post on some Spring projects but I haven’t had time to make anything lately. I have a whole box of projects just waiting to be finished.
I watched this vlogger from Scotland in clip below and his story is so similar to ours. He bought a cottage out in the country and is fixing it up. I laughed watching his show, as it is so close to some of the problems we have had with our own renovations. Like flooding in our basement, which is now fixed. The weather and seasons are a new challenge too. Although the big difference with his story compared to ours is that he is all alone, and we’re not.
Also, this isn’t our first rodeo as they say. We had a couple other homes we renovated and sold. We have some experience with most home renovation projects. I like this vlogger, he has a fun way of telling his story. He’s got a good sense of humor with this adventure of his and you need that for this kind of work.
I have an idea of what I want in the end when all is said and done…and this cottage style in clip below is what I would love to achieve. There are actually a couple homes I have watched that are similar in this style with what I’m going for. I love making any space into a nice comfortable home. A place where anyone that walks into it will feel like it’s a safe spot, a peaceful space. A place that anyone can call home.
It’s possible, anything is possible once you put all you got into something. I was taught that from my husband’s aunt. We took many trips to her villa she bought years ago. We were there when there were holes in the floors, sheep poo everywhere, and stones out of place…everything had to be rebuilt. In some places there was even no roof.
My husband and I met so many great craftsmen and women who helped to rebuild the villa. At night after a hard day of working, living, exploring the woods, and many road trips around Tuscany…we would sit outside and watch the fireflies.
We took our walks in the early mornings when our first born was sleeping in one of the cribs upstairs. It was like a castle. We were there before we had our children, and visited many times to visit with family, and now our children are all grown. The villa is no longer that broken down old sheep’s farm. It’s so true what we were taught those earlier years back, and that is that anything is possible if you put all you got into it.
This quick post I’m writing up is a road trip we took one day to a beautiful church in our area that I love to visit. It’s one of my favorite places to take walks around. There is a lake by the church and when you sit down inside the church it’s so quiet. When you look out the windows there is the lake down below. The church sits up on a hill.

I will do a more detailed post about that in another post, walking around that little church on the hill, in the middle of the woods. This was a road trip we took in the Fall. I’m going back in the archives for this one.

Thought I share some photos from the drive to the church. I’m including a link to one of the CD’S we were listening to on this drive. We were going old school, back when we were kids/teens in the 80’s and INXS was the music from that time. I used to call them inks, and everyone would laugh.
So here we go…time for a road trip. Just hit the music and scroll through some photos while you listen. Happy road trip adventures everyone and remember…anything is possible in life when you put your whole heart and soul into it. God helps us. He gives us the gifts and strength to create, to live, to build, and to leave the world a little better than it was for each generation here after.
