“Life is beautiful, cherish every second, every minute and every day . “
This isn’t our normal walk. This isn’t about woods, creeks and lakes. This is just a combination of all the places we walk to, in and around. Through historic areas shopping and sometimes just looking and getting out. Meeting new people, getting sunshine, and being inspired. Sometimes we will pick up a treat or two. It’s many walks combined together.
First stop was a museum. It’s free to the public, so we thought it would be a nice place to explore for a bit. You can walk around the museum where they have a train and other outside items to look at from long ago. When we went to open the door there was this note on it. Oh well, it looks like we will be going on a walk again when this is open. That’s okay…we like walking everywhere. We left the museum continuing walking .But first we walked to the back of the museum to check out the train. Down the street we could hear music. This used to be someone’s house and they turned into a neighborhood bar. I don’t drink alcohol but I stop to see what there was to see. I don’t like this giant skeleton, especially as this isn’t the season of Halloween, but I will say this is a colorful house that they turned into a bar. The colors and the gigantic skeleton do draw the eye and bring attention to the business. We stop for awhile a few blocks after walking through the neighborhood to check out this huge piece of art. The wind blows the scales on the fish and the sound it makes is so peaceful. It was a really windy day on this walk, a storm was blowing in. The patterns on these fish were continuously changing from the wind.We finally reached the main street area. This is where all the shops are. We stopped off at one of the art studios. I met one of the artist that has his work displayed here, that was on another walking adventure out in nature that was at a huge glass church. We walked into the art studio and the artist I met had his whimsical bird art everywhere, they had huge eyes and were really funny looking. I loved the flowers on this painting in front, anything with flowers is so beautiful to me.We walked into another store that had all kinds of children’s clothing in it. At the entrance was this adorable little playhouse filled with mice. We were just out enjoying the day and exploring to see what there was to see around every corner. We decided to check out the Walton’s museum, which is in the original store location. Inside the museum they had all kinds of products from the past. The weather was perfect to me. I like 60-70 temperatures.During the Summer months this whole park and area is filled with people for the farmers market. This is my favorite Farmer’s market I have been to.I thought this bunny was so cute, it still has a Valentine ribbon on it. Went into the tea store. I love how they displayed their merchandise. The shop we are working on at the old historic house used to be a business shop, I would love to turn it into a garden shop kind of like this lay out. Wooden tables, seeds, berbs and plants. Just a day dream for now…who knows what will be…we will see. Pretty glass jars everywhere, I love how everything was pleasing to the eye and neat and tidy. My favorite part to this walk were the old historic homes everywhere. Before we ended our walk we stopped off at one of the gift shops and picked up a free mini canvas to create some art for a charity auction that will help the Down syndrome association. You create your art piece then drop it off to be auction off to raise money. I have two ideas for my piece, maybe a sunflower with a bumble bee, or maybe mixed media trees using tiny twigs from the Ozark woods to incorporate them into the piece somehow. I have a month to work on it so I better get to work.Visiting a yard sale, this is the only thing I really saw that I liked but I don’t know where I would put this. I will always enjoy exploring around old buildings. Buttercup flowers are popping up everywhere. You should never skip an opportunity to stand with flowers all around you. I saw the sun up close for the first time through this special telescope with a camera….it was amazing. I woke up sneezing then went outside and it started snowing flower petals.Just an old barn. There were about twenty free puppies just looking for some TLC, they were so adorable and there were so many. These trees here are like giant art sculptures. Picking up some Strawberries for our garden. An old Ozark cottage. Before heading home we drove to the old historic house to check on it and to feed the chickens there. All our trees are starting to bloom. It’s so beautiful watching the changes of the seasons.Watching a bumble bee flying around one of our trees. One of the best movies to watch right now, but it’s only playing outside. I believe Spring has arrived. But wait….snow is on it’s way again. Before we made it home we stopped off at an estate sale and I picked up this really nice wicker chair for our porch out front. I just need to sew a cushion for it. It was only $17. And I bought a tiny vintage pin cushion for .50 cents. I have little pin cushions around my house and my sewing nook for when I get the urge to sew up tiny teddies and plush toys.Back at home now. Peace, quiet and relaxation. At home while the fire was making everything cozy warm I got out some supplies to design some more wool felted cat toys for my kitten, she loves them so much that as soon as she hears me felting she runs into the room and tries to get to them before I can finish them. Before I painted my free canvas from my visit on main street I did some pencil sketches and experimented with what I was going to paint on the canvas. I’m not a painter, I doodle whimsical art for fun. I wanted to contribute some art for a good cause so I thought I give it a go. This art auction is for the down syndrome society and the money goes towards that. Thankfully it’s for all levels of artists.I decided to stick with painting a bird. I like birds, maybe someone else will too. I think I will call this painting the sweetest peach. It reminds me of our peach tree we used to have back in the city we lived in. We used to share those peaches with our neighbors, friends and family. One week while we were away from our house someone came and poisoned our whole yard, killing our peach tree we had for years. This was after my estrangement from my family. Who knows who it was, but our neighbors did tell us someone did come to our house and were spraying things, but they thought it was just yard work we hired out. The whole yard died, all our baby trees we had for a year growing, all our plants, and that special peach tree that was my gift to my husband many years ago…everything gone. We took photos of it to file away with everything else that happened when we went No Contact. My husband tried so hard trying to figure out why everything was dying and that’s when he figured it was poisoned and we asked our neighbors if anyone was around our property and they said yes. It could have been anyone who did this. We did have a family member that was known for doing stuff when trouble making gossipy types would whisper in his ear, an in law…once slashing a tire because of something an uncle did. It could have been anyone that was lied to and misled to hate us, to get involved in something they shouldn’t have. That peach tree dying after years of us having it, along with the whole yard and all the other young trees, that wasn’t it. I was also sent a sinister card from another disturbed family member pretending to be my dead grandmother that I was very close to, my Nana that I loved very much. When I went No Contact…it was for peace for my immediate family…I never contacted them, I never bothered them, I never got involved after going No Contact. They were the ones that kept coming into my environment and trying to bait me back into the battles they loved to always be in, snooping and lurking and pretending they missed us. Anyway, this bird does not exists…it’s just imagination, there is no such thing as a peach bird, and the leaves and tiny buds are just things I put together to create some art….the sweetest peach represents those sweet peaches that we shared with people we loved from our peach tree years ago. That was a tree I gifted my husband with because he always told me stories of growing up in Italy and his grandfather’s peach grove. So this painting will be the piece I donate. It isn’t finished in this photo. We have a new garden now that we are out of the city. Living in the country, with this being a small town basically, everyone knows everyone…we feel saver here, more then we ever did in the city. One last photo before I end this post. I picked up this little Easter pot for $1 at that estate sale. I’m going to fill it with clippings of some of my succulents. I was able to start a new garden in our back yard back in the city. We moved all our plants to our backyard to keep them safe. Pots and other plants were also stolen from our front yard. The garden furniture I painted was stolen on another weekend we were gone. We noticed that during both the poisonings and the theft that they only happened on weekends when we were up in northern Arizona working on a renovation project that also happened to be weekends that some of our estranged family members happened to be up there in their second home as well. Knowing we were not in our city home . Some of these individuals, one particular individual, that I will call “The puppet master” liked to talk behind our back and twist and lie to get others to hate on us, while feeling sorry for them. And as it was their pattern with others (some of their closes allies would deny this of course) they got into someone’s head to target our home knowing when we were away…because it only happened under those situations, when some of our estranged family was up north when we were there also and our city home was vulnerable. People with personality disorders always get others to feel sorry for them and manipulate others to target the ones they hate. This way, later they can play innocent because they didn’t actually do the deed, they keep their hands clean, but they are the head manipulators through the power of their tongues in what they spread, No one else on our street had their garden furniture and potted plants stolen, no one else had everything poisoned…just us. So much happened after we went No Contact . I still have succulents from that garden. Now I share with neighbors here in our new home where we moved.
Happy walking adventures everyone. Stay safe out there and God bless and protect you all.
