In the garden…making Fall terrariums.

It was that time of year again, time to get my giant glass terrarium out of storage. I have a basket filled with Terrarium items like rocks, moss, tiny animals and miniature houses with whimsical mushrooms. I never know what I will design, and sometimes I add new items to my Terrarium basket in storage.

Sometimes I will do a Spring terrarium as well. I like finding tiny animals to add to my terrariums. I’ll use clippings from my own garden or buy sickly looking plants on the clearance racks in the garden shops. They usually pop back to life wrapped in the protective bubble of a terrarium, along with other tiny plants to keep it company.

These were my Spring terrariums earlier in the year.

Here are some new designs from this year and my new Fall terrariums I worked on one Sunday.

I painted these tiny pumpkins for my terrarium.

Besides working on terrariums for the garden, I also added some pumpkins to my little porch garden.

And with the ivy that grows around the porch railing, I clipped that away preparing for the ivy to come inside to our indoor Winter garden that we keep alive under grow lights. With the ivy vine I made a wreath. It’s not my Fall wreath , I still need to make that. I also have grape vines to wrap into wreaths with things cool down, those will be ready for Winter wreaths. Over at our historic house, that garden has a holly plant, so I will be making decor with branches from that for Christmas.

Not much else going on in the garden, just cleaning up and getting ready for the Winter now…prepping and stacking up wood now. We are still getting tomatoes. The weather is still warm enough for tomatoes.

The chickens are doing great. We got the cutest little fuzzy babies.

Happy gardening everyone. Stay safe out there and God bless you all.

Whoops, almost forgot to share new photos from our bird feeder. Gary (what we named the red cardinal that visits us every morning) has been showing up for breakfast and his evening dinner. He is such a beautiful bird.
