Blogmas day 23…DIY your own Gingerbread House.

Recipe:

1/2 cup of coconut oil.

2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour.

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup of molasses

1 egg

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Powdered sugar icing- 1 cup of powdered sugar, a little bit of milk a teaspoon added until you get the consistency you want in frosting. The thicker the better when putting your Gingerbread house together. You can get free templates of different sizes of gingerbread houses online.

Divide dough in half, cover and chill for 3 hours. On a lightly floured surface roll each portion of dough to 1/4 inch thickness, cut into your shapes. Bake at 375F oven for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for one minute. I let mine cool overnight and the next day I put my house pieces together after decorating the walls and roofs.
