There is a lot going on with our gardens right now, we are having fun in these early stages of getting it all put together. Meanwhile there are natural plants popping up everywhere on our property that I have been trying to keep up with in harvesting and drying. Some plants I am using the stems for baskets to weave later.

I have sections everywhere where all these plants are drying in preparations for uses later. I can’t wait to start on basket weaving, I always look forward to that part, the creative part.

I have been harvesting Plantain, wild mint, and wild onions which we allowed to go to seed.

For the moment I am drying Plantain and then I want to make healing salves with what I jar for a few weeks in Olive oil. This will be mixed with some of our bees wax to make the salve with and use later. This year this will be one of our Christmas gifts we are giving out. I need to order the little glass jars first to package it in.
There are so many wild and naturally growing plants popping up everywhere right now, and Fleabane is one of those plants I’m seeing a lot of. They are on the sides of roads, on our own property and when I go on my morning walks down by the creek Fleabane is all over the place by the creek as well. Such an adorable little flower.

I like to share a little about this little flower. It’s is so tiny and has so much detail. I use this flower in a lot of my coloring pages I design.
Actually there are many flowers on this plant. It may look like one flower, a daisy, but each white strand is a flower and each tiny yellow dot in the center is another flower. Multiply flowers on one stem.
I’m trying to harvest the flowers only right now, drying them out on a screen and then eventually I want to harvest what is left later as the plants I have growing now are still producing flowers daily.

Before you use any natural plants, make sure they come from an area that has no pesticides or any sort of chemicals that have been sprayed on the plants. Also, always check with your doctor before trying anything in case you are on medications that will interact in negative ways with herbs and natural plants. Always use caution specifically if pregnant, never use Fleabane as a tea when pregnant or nursing.
